About this project
Writing is an important and powerful communication tool in society, but it has several flaws that make it difficult for many to take advantage of it. Writing Sucks: Common Pitfalls of Writing aims to point out these flaws in an attempt to call for a reassessment of writing in this day and age by observing studies, drawing from personal experiences, reading authors’ suggestions, and interviewing writing tutors. The paper highlights common areas that most writers succumb to and sheds light on possible solutions, as well as the demand for structural changes to make writing more accessible.
Why write this piece?
Initially, I intended to talk about a technology-related paper, likely about Apple’s rumored plans to switch the processors in their Mac line up to their own processors. At the same time, I also struggled a bit with writing in general due to a few things that happened in the background. My writing professor recommended that I use the paper as a means of recovering from the experience and share my thoughts on how writing became so difficult in the first place.
